Q: how can i refine gold to 24k i want the most quiick way?
if i fire the gold what eazy componds will i need to reine gold to 24kt quick and as cheep as possible.

A: melt it and get rid of the drous.

Q: 1kg of gold dust will make how many grams of refine gold?
I just want to know if 1kg of dust will make 1kg of refine product or lesser. Thanks

A: Less, by a significant amount. Most gold is found as electrum, an alloy of gold and silver mostly, with a small amount of other elements.
It usually is about 14 to 17 carats or 56% to 68% gold. So your dust will probably be between 560 to 680 grams gold.
THere are exceptions but that is the usual range.

Q: How to refine gold from ore and used computer pc board?

A: The National Mining Association shows how gold is refined from ore. Take a look.

I don’t know exactly how to get gold from computer pc boards. First you would have to separate the metal and gold from the plastic component. Maybe you could refine after that.

Q: Is possible to refine gold using electrolysis? How?

A: Yes. it can be. These days a more refined technique Zone refining is used for purifying metals. to purify gold by electrolysis one must use pure Gold cathode and impure metal as anode. the electrolye must be some gold salt e.g. may be AuCl3.

Q: 1kilo of solid 10kt gold will make how many grams of refine gold (24kt)?
Please if somebody can let me know, how to do the math in grams for 10kt and 14kt gold, and once is refine how much of 24kt gold would I get?
thank you for your answers:)

A: Since pure gold is 24K, 10K and 14K can be expressed as fractions of purity:
10K = 10/24 = 41.66% gold
14K = 14/24 = 58.33% gold

Therefore, to calculate the pure gold content of 1kilo (1000g) of 10K gold:
1000g x 0.4166 = 416.6 grams of 24K gold.

Q: What do you need to make gold/silver coins at home?
I have started refining gold and am having trouble finding all the tools to make my own coins or tokens at home. I know you need a bench press and blank cutter but and upper and lower die. But where do you get them? And what are the steps to make something to be proud of. Not some back porch hammer slapped junk. I want to put my sons name on them so they must look very good! Can you tell me how AND where to get my needed tools?

A: There are places which will do it for you.

Q: How do I refine scrap gold jewelery into higher purity gold?
I have some 14 Karat gold jewelry, and I just wondered how you refine it to make it more pure. I heard that you can heat it up until it melts, and keep it hot, then add borax, and the impurities can be separated.

A: unless you have the proper oven i would not do it on your own, gold melts at 1947, that temp is extremely dangerous. if its just a custom piece you want to make, bring it to a jeweller that does their own work, tell them you want to smelt it, they will take a few points for themselves of course, but you will get at least 90-95% of the purity. basically a middleman for a refiner. Being in the pawnbroking business for almost ten years i know 100% this is you best method to get you value! Pawn shops will give little, if your lucky $5 per gram maybe $6 max. (thats what i give) . A higher end jewellery store may put it on consignment and ask for 20%, and may even take years. In short, find a middle man for a refinery.

Q: How can i sell refined gold or gold dust to any gold dealer in UAE?

A: You can sell gold online easily. Gold can sold for great price at http://www.empiregoldbuyers.com

Q: how to refine the gold bath salt,or how to metalized it?
I found some white salt formation of gold which used to be use for gold plating.how can i turn it to metal formation.

A: Easier said than done. The metal that is plated is a cathode). Without that, the gold in solution will not plate out as a metal. Anyway, the amount of gold that goes into plating is so small that even at $950 an ounce for gold, the cost of recovering elemental gold may not be worth it.

Q: How do you buy gold when you’re broke?
The Bible says you are poor and wretched and should buy the best of the best of refined gold

http://www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/Sermons/ByDate/1983/373_How_to_Buy_Gold_When_Youre_Broke/

A: It would be legal for you to buy gold on a payment plan. Just like buying something with a credit card. YOu get the gold and you agree to pay the seller monthly. You could place the gold in a “neutral” place so you don’t get to take possession until the final dollar is paid. You are the owner but you don’t get possession. That would be fair to both you and the seller. And you would get your gold for no money down.

Q: refining gold?
i was looking for a good method of refining gold. i tried google and found this article

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/559673/how_to_refine_your_own_gold.html

is this an accurate method for refining gold? because it seems easy enough.

A: There are many ways of refining gold.

You may want to research on the following methods: aqua regia, cyanide, amalgamation, thiosulfate and thiourea.

The link below discusses in greater detail large scale refining of gold using the aqua regia method. You have to realize that it’s not as easy as it looks if you want to achieve the highest yield possible at the least cost of chemicals and least impact to people and environment.

Q: refining gold plating…..?
I have about 4 pounds of gold plated crap (jewelery, connectors, ect..) I know how to refine gold plated stuff chemically and i also know its pretty dangerous, but does anyone know if its even worth my while? How much will 1 pound of gold plated stuff yield?

A: really , the weight of gold you would get off that lot would not be more than 2-3 grams . also by using using hydrochloric and nitric acid to strip off the gold is worth more then the gold would be , gold is selling at approx.$20 a gram
gold is put on by thickness .2 to .5 of a micron thick. ,se all your jewellery as is , you will get more money

Q: How do you produce a gold refined necklace on the game Nostale Global?
Ok so i need help on that quest to produce the gold refined necklace. I know you have to use that adventure kit but idk how to get to it or how to work it.. if u havnt figgured im a noob lol. so anyways be sure to us stuff like (double click press the button K and stuff like that) be as detailed as possible THANX!

A: Alright im not 100 percent sure if this is right because im level 50 but haven’t played in like 4 months because it takes me to long to level up i think you gotta go to the smithy guy.

Q: How do you make Precious metal detection liquid?
I’m refining gold with aqua regia and after precipitating the gold I need to check the solution to see if any gold remains. It’s too expensive for such a small amount.

A: I don’t know how you are precipitating out the gold, but I don’t think a colorimetric test for gold in solution is possible. It is non-reactive and does not ionize. Given that gold has filled upper electron orbitals, you might be able to run a UV-VIS spectrum and get some UV absorption for solvated gold versus clean aqua regia. The UV apsorption is probably going to be in the lower UV wavlengths, and it might not be possible to differentiate between trace levels of gold and trace levels of transition metal impurities.

If you are precipitating the gold by an equilibrium process, just load up on your precipitation compound to push the equilibrium as far as possible to one side. Another possibility is to electrolytically remove any trace gold from the aqua regia. Sorry I don’t have any better suggestions.

Q: Where do I find the exact forumula for refining gold?
Does anyone know where I can find the step-by-step process for the “Miller” process and “Wohlwill” process? What I need to find is the how-to instructions. The formulas. I don’t need definitions from wikipedia and the such. Any links or books you might know of where I can find such information? My dad’s a jeweler and needs to know the exact formulas and conversions for refining gold. Thanks!
Please refrain from writing nonsense just to add up points! He is not a salesman but rather handcrafts jewelry from start to finish. He’s not a chemist which is why he would like to know the exact formula.

A: If “your dad” is a jeweler, he should know all of this stuff. If, on the other hand, he is a jewelery salesman, he does not have to. He has no business messing with precious metal alloys.

The chemistry of what you want to do is highly toxic. You will not be able to do it at home. Nor would it be a good idea to try because the most likely way you will get a “return on your investment” is by inheriting your Dad’s life insurance.

If you happen to have some precious metal alloys which need to be separated, you can have it done by companies which are licensed for this kind of thing.

If you are too cheap to pay the price for this service, you are probably cheap enough to endanger yourself and your neighbors with a very dangerous chemistry “experiment”.

Good luck and I hope you don’t happen to live next to me.
